Consumer Mortgage Advocate

Elizabeth Alvarez is an advocate for the consumer in the housing industry.

Since 2002, Elizabeth has counseled thousands of households on basic homeownership issues. She has worked effectively with national and local non-profits, as well as with housing authorities, Chambers of Commerce, cities, and human resource departments, to ensure that consumers are aware of basic homeownership guidelines, and to ensure that consumers have access to reliable free resources.

Elizabeth also works as a consultant with individual mortgage lenders to create meaningful, non-sales educational events for consumers and local communities.

Elizabeth's professional experience includes project management, writing, administration, event production, grant-writing, and instruction in both corporate and non-profit business models. She is an effective teacher and presenter, and she has been chosen as the lead educator and spokesperson for several consumer outreach campaigns, including the free web service called HomeownerHope.org, which was created for consumers seeking loan modification information through HERA, the government program that since has been replaced by 'Making Home Affordable'.
